The history of Tokai Denpun started from processing and selling starch. As a company fully knowledgeable in the uses of starch, of which there are more than 2,000, we can meet various needs including food use and industrial use.
Furthermore, in order to maximize the possibility of starch, our Research and development laboratory is fully engaged in product development and use development. We solve customers’ problems through various proposals.

Providing a wide variety of raw materials and secondary materials to the food-processing sector

We provide raw materials and secondary materials for processed food, such as sugar, wheat flour, oil, fat, dairy products and egg, widely to the food industry, including manufacturers of frozen foods, confectioneries, and bread.
We deliver a wide range of materials from vegetable proteins that contribute to improvements in nutrition and quality and seasonings that maximize flavors to food additives that contribute to the SDGs.

Comprehensively supporting your manufacturing, packing, sanitation, and quality management

We handle wrapping and packing materials that are functional and/or have good designs to safely deliver foods to your customers, as well as food-processing machines, packing machines, inspection machines, and environmental equipment. In order to widely support our customers, we also deal with items for sanitation in food factories, such as detergents, sanitizers, and bacteria-inspection equipment.

Delivers seasonal vegetables and fruits from domestic and international production sites

With more diversified food needs for food and changing foreign affairs, we respond to customers’ demands by procuring products from inside and outside the country in a wide variety of distribution forms, including fresh, frozen, boiled, dried, and salted. Vegetables are mainly distributed to frozen food, prepared food, and pickle manufacturers. Onions, cabbages, and carrots are delivered as fresh; corn, spinach, and bamboo shoots are delivered in frozen form; bamboo shoots, burdock root, and radishes are delivered in boiled form; and dried plums, ginger, and cucumbers are delivered in salted form to the domestic market and in China, Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and India, and Oceania countries through our global procurement network, and we contribute to customers BCP. We also import fruits like apples, strawberries, and yellow peaches from China for canned food and the ingredients of sweets. We also import processed chestnuts from Korea, China, and Italy. We respond to customer demands in a diverse range of industries through our broad product lineup and work on safe, secure product development through the collaboration between the Quality Assurance Division and overseas local personnel to check factories and agricultural fields of our overseas suppliers and provide guidance and advice for improvements for them.

Selected materials and quality, which satisfy the needs of established manufacturers

With our fine-tuned service, we meet the needs of established manufacturers that have been preserving their long-standing tastes, including those of traditional Japanese confectioneries.
Using our secure network connected directly from production areas nationwide, we provide a wide variety of edible beans that are used for confectioneries (sweet bean paste), as well as tofu, miso, boiled beans, and snacks. We account for a large share in the industry. We are also engaged in the development of production areas meeting our customers’ needs.

Connects to the production areas with the varieties and qualities according to the applications and major grains: rice and wheat

Rice and wheat are the main foods on the Japanese dining table. We deal with milled rice for domestic use, ready-made meal use, and restaurant use and have established a stable supply of a variety of rice and wheat from production areas inside and outside Japan for the raw materials of processed cooked rice, alcohol, rice snacks, miso, and soy sauce. In addition to the establishment of a supply network utilizing our group company StarAgri and partner rice milling factories, we are committed to producing processed rice products that include rice flour and the development of new production areas and breeds in order to respond to further customer need.

Contributes to stable supply of meat raw materials and differentiation of products and sales floors

We engage in developing meat raw materials of chicken, pork, and beef from inside and outside of Japan in order to deliver them in an easy-to-use form for our clients. We sell not only raw materials but also heat-processed cut meat considering convenience and hygiene perspectives when used and contribute to
manufacturing efficiency and differentiation of products and sales floors by providing proposals on our original products and supporting the development of cooked and processed products.

Network for the Stable Supply and Efficient Use of Marine and Livestock Feed Ingredients and Fertilizer Materials

We support Japan’s fisheries, livestock, and agriculture industries while also pursuing the development of environmentally friendly raw materials. We procure feed and fertilizer materials from both Japan and overseas sources and provide a stable supply to feed and fertilizer manufacturers and producers. We also convert byproducts generated at food plants into feed, fertilizers, and energy, and through the efficient use of these resources, we contribute to society. We are committed to ensuring a stable supply of high-quality raw materials to promote food safety and a sustainable society.

The R&D laboratory started with the basic research and analysis of starch and has developed new processed starch. It now engages in product development, application building, and product menu development according to it based on starch features in line with customer needs as the Product Development Division of the entire Tokai Denpun Group.
